about wool
Why Wool? Where do you wear it, anyway?Wool is nature’s original technical fabric. Not something born in a laboratory and not made of the same material as a milk jug. (We admit it, plastic has it’s place, just not on your body when comfort and performance are key!) As always, nature says it best; the best technical fabric grows on sheep. Our garments will keep you warm, keep you cool, keep you odor free, and make you feel plain, old ‘good’. A renewable, natural resource, wool is comfortable next to your skin and our garments are fabricated to last a lifetime. From active sports in the morning to relaxing at night (and who knows, under a blazer at your 9 am on Monday morning), wool keeps you covered. At Joneswares, we bike, run, hike, fish, climb, skate, ski, row, curl, geocache, twist, turn, and do just about everything else that involves moving with meaning. We all like to be comfortable and demand a lot from what we wear. And we expect our clothes to wear; if we can dish it out, our gear had better be able to handle it. That’s why everything we make is designed for the long haul. All seams receive dual extra stitching at stress points, and we make sure there are no ‘raw’ edges. We know purchasing a wool garment is an investment. Protect your investment and it will yield a lifetime of returns. The best friends are the old friends. Get (real) comfortable.
Wool Care Melton wool hats should be hand washed, if necessary. Lay flat to dry. Gently steam hats with an iron to retain shape. Alternatively, Melton hats may be dry cleaned using an eco-friendly steam process.
